Surprise Toy: Find It - On a Hunt

We haven't had this much fun in a while! Today's surprise toy is one of the popular Find It Games
Our version is the Find It On A Hunt, which is about hunting, outdoors, game.

Find It is a great game for those who love scavengers hunts. There are lots of figures inside a tube that is filled with TONS of beads. The tube is sealed on both sides and the only way to find the figures is to move the tube making the beads move all over it to try to discover where the objects are.

Now, we love that Find It Games has various themes for the game. We mentioned that ours is the Find It On a Hunt edition, but there are others like At The Beach (our other favorite), Pirates, Elf on the Shelf, Bible, and much more that you can see HERE. The variety is impressive and we love it because people can buy the edition they most relate to, or that they just like.

For example, our edition (On a Hunt) is one we can relate to because my husband loves hunting and we want Kiddo to learn about it. For my surprise he already knew the majority of the objects related to this particular game and that is another thing we love. Objects are things that most of us already know and this makes it easier for little ones to be part of the fun.

If you purchase a Find It game, you will receive the tube, a little pamphlet with instructions and ways to play, and a set of double sided cards to play. The tube contains 48 hidden objects and, I must say, some are really hard to find! In more than 2 weeks, I haven't been able to find the pen, the feather or the bullet casing (between others). The entire list of objects is located at the top of the tube for you to know what's inside.

The cards are double sided and labeled SIDE ONE and SIDE TWO. You use the cards to find the object that fits their description, and so on. They say things like: "Find and item bigger than…", or "Find an item that is expensive…", etc… you can play it by time or without any time limit to search.

You can play by yourself or you can have more friends play with you, and the pamphlet that comes with the game has also the list of the objects PLUS their score value which at the end of the game will determine who is the winner.

I have to confess… We have our Find It game on our mantle and I catch myself, EVERY SINGLE DAY, trying to find the objects we haven't been able to find haha! So it really is a game that the entire family will enjoy, no matter the age. Kiddo is 3, and when we first got the game he didn't understand that you couldn't open the tube to get the objects out. He assumed he could because, of course, that is the easiest way to find all the objects haha! After I explained and explained, he got the hang of it and now enjoys to find new items every time he plays.

Needless to say this game is great! No matter the age this is something that the entire family will enjoy playing. During the Holidays, it is a great game to have in hand for get-togethers and parties. It is like a scavenger hunt, but also helps the kids to practice/learn about adjectives/descriptions like colors, sizes, value, etc… Right now Find It On A Hunt is one of our favorite games this year, we love it so much that it is going to go with us on vacation to keep us and Kiddo entertained the plane :) It has helped us to teach Kiddo how to pronounce words better (he finds and item and cannot move on to find another one UNTIL he pronounces the name of the first object correctly, or at least tries really hard to). Something I love and that has been really helpful for the little one, is the shape of the top and bottom of the tube. Having the octagon shaped ends it is easier for him to lay the tube on the side and look for items without the fear of the tube rolling and moving, so this basically gives you 8 different laying down angles to move the tube and observe to see if you find the hidden items you are looking for. Genius Find It Games, genius!

As you can see, the little one loves it. He truly gets concentrated and focused on finding his hidden objects.

Go to Find It Game's website and check all of their editions, you will find one that speaks to you for sure! This is one of the best gifts you could give to anyone this holiday season!

Owl Necklace by Neoglory

What lady doesn't like jewelry. Some say that diamonds and a girls best friend (I think that french friend and vanilla shakes are, but I may be wrong lol)

Well check out this Gray Owl necklace from Neoglory. Made with rhinestones, it definitely is a necklace that will make a statement with any outfit.

SUNYEAR USB charging cable for iPhone 6

I was contacted time ago to try this product and tell you my honest opinion about it. It is the Sunyear USB Charging Cable for iPhones. It is Apple MFI Certified and compatible with iPhone 5/ 5s/ 5c/ 6/ 6Plus/ 6s/ 6s Plus/ iPad Mini 1/2/3 / iPad 4 / iPad Air 1& 2.

The sample I got is color black, which is ok, but I would prefer white since my iPhone is white :) I love white though lol

The description of the product mentions that the cable is 3 feet long, which is fine. It actually measures 38.5inches (3.2 ft) but this is shorter than my original Apple USB charging cable which measures 40 inches long, and if you ask ME (since this is a review for MY honest opinion) 1.5 inches is a big difference in a cable. IT works as described though, charges my iPhone 6 fine, and takes little to no space when stored which is a great thing!

Why would you need an extra cable? Well, it is always nice to have a spare cable for the car, office, or in your purse just in case. This would make a great spare cable, I would not suggest to buy it as primary because it is shorter than the original Apple cable, and at least I would not buy something that is shorter than the original, I would probably get the same or something longer to use as primary charging cable. But, like I said, if you are looking for an extra cable to have it as spare this one may work because it truly works as it should.

Our Backyard Garden

Did you know that we are gardeners? Or at least we try…

Well, when we first got this house, our backyard was so plain. It had lots of old mulch, one big tree and 4 small shrubs. It didn't have any single fruit tree like all my neighbors' have. Maybe the former owner cut them down or something? I assume this because there were 5 tree stumps (2 big ones and 3 medium) and we have never known what these were lol Still to this day I complain about how all my neighbors have fruit trees in they backyards (and even FRONT YARD) and this house has NOTHING! They have avocado trees, oranges, lemon, plums and even peaches…. we, well, like I said, this is the only house with zero fruit trees (wah wah waaaaah).

Ok, enough of the petty party because…..

… we've changed that. Now we have a vegetable garden in the backyard, but last year it was not what we expected it to be. We planted everything directly in our soil, but little did we know our soil lacks some important nutrients and our crop was no good.

This year we decided to change our strategy. We built 5 redwood raised beds and filled them with a mix of compost and top soil (50/50). We are actually changing the entire backyard and went from dirt walkways to mulch,  and we are growing new grass for the green area.

Surprise Toy: Dirt Diggers 2-in-1 Haulers #LittleTikes

What kid doesn't love to play in the dirt? Well, mine does and he is obsessed with "construction workers" and "construction sites". Any dirt pile is a construction site according to Kiddo! That is why the Little Tikes Dirt Diggers 2-in-1 Haulers are the best gifts for little kids that love their hands dirty!

Dirt Diggers 2-in-1 Haulers is a collection of construction trucks that includes a Front Loader, and Excavator and a Dump Truck. You can get them in a bundle or separate.

We have the three of them now. Little Tikes was kind enough to provide us the two Haulers that we needed to complete the collection: the Excavator and the Front Loader. The Dump Truck is already a year old and it is indestructible, BELIEVE ME!

Surprise Toy: Bristle Blocks from Battat

Oh goodness! We have a new favorite in this house. Can you tell?

Let me contain the excitement! Ok.

*deep breath*

Ahhhh, we absolutely love our new Bristle Blocks from Battat!!!!!! Oops, couldn't contain it!

Ok, deep breath again…

I am really excited to tell you about this 113 piece Bristle Blocks set from Battat.

Why are we loving them so much?

The Bristle Blocks are not the typical blocks you find everywhere, what makes these so special is that you can stick them together on any direction letting your kid be more creative and less frustrated than with regular blocks (where they can only build in one direction, up).

They come in different shapes and vibrant colors perfect for the development of kids' senses, and have a total of 104 building blocks, plus this particular set also includes nine (9) figurines: a family of four people (4) and five (5) animals. Each figurine has a rotating base that can attach to the rest of the blocks.

Family figurines: daddy, mommy, sister and brother.

Animal figurines: cow, dog, hen, piggy and sheep.
A thing that got my attention was that these blocks are kind of flexible, which makes it easier to stick them together because they mold into each other better. It also means that kids won't be able to destroy them easily. Oh, and they suit ages 2+. You don't have to worry about choking because pieces have a good (big) size for tiny hands. They are also made out of high quality materials for safety, and if you want to learn more you can visit their page here: Battat Safety.

Still, tell your kids to pick them up before going to bed because these are painful to step on during the night lol!

This Bristle Blocks Set comes in a convenient carrying case with handle that is great for transportation, and also makes clean-up a breeze. (I am pretty sure that almost every other Bristle Block set comes with a convenient carrying case, BUT since I don't own all of them I cannot be 100% sure if they come with one).

Final thoughts? I never heard of these until recently. Kiddo has been a fan of the (4 letter name) popular building blocks, but since they can only stick together in one direction, Kiddo was getting frustrated because he wasn't able to create what he had in mind. The Bristle Blocks from Battat have let his imagination and creativity flow waaaay better.

This set doesn't have a specific theme to it, and I love that because the amount of possibilities are endless. It comes with some ideas on the packaging, but those are only a handful compared with all the things you can do with this set. We have built trains, castle, farm, space ship, a pier with boats and a lighthouse, cars (with car seat for kids' safety *wink*)…. lots of things.

This case is pretty big, but I am truly considering to take it with us in our next trip too. I don't care how much space it takes, it is so worth it because it helps stimulate my little one's creativity and can keep him entertained for hours (way better than watching cartoons on a phone).

I cannot recommend the Battat's Bristle Blocks enough! They are an AMAZING gift for kids. My four year old loves them, and play with them every single day. And every time he builds something new he gets super excited that he accomplished what he had in mind! It is wonderful to see how creative kids get with these blocks! Needless to say, Battat's Bristle Blocks are

*I have a video to upload, but for some reason it is not showing up. Don't worry, I'll work this out so you guys can see more about these wonderful blocks!*
