Mommy's Corner: Organizing Cosmetics with #Ohuhu

Kiddo is taking his nap! WOOHOO! And today I decided to organize the little makeup and jewelry I have. I used to have it all in a lunch bag (YES, a lunch bag! haha), but it was so messy and everything was on top of everything else. Then when I needed to find something fast I couldn't… a total disaster.

Size comparison (iPhone 6)
This week I got a surprise. It is the Cosmetic Organizer from Ohuhu. And I went from disastrous lunch bag to cute, girly and organized haha!

Baby Gifts: Muslin Swaddle Blankets #SavvyBaby

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

One of my favorite things to do when Kiddo was a newborn was to swaddle him. He loved to be swaddled and that would put him to sleep immediately. Swaddling means wrapping a baby in cloth, by doing so baby feels the same comfort he/she felt while in the womb. That's pretty much why Kiddo would fall asleep so fast.

My only concern with that always was how warm he would get. But now that I am better informed about baby products I know that muslin blankets are the best for swaddling without the risk of baby getting baked.

I had the chance to try the Muslin Swaddle Blankets from SavvyBaby and can't be happier about it. The SavvyBaby muslin swaddle blankets are made out of 100% cotton fabric, they come in a pack of three (3) with three different lovely and simple designs, and in neutral colors.

The Savvy Baby swaddle blankets measure 48" x 48", perfect size for saddling babies from newborn to approximately 6 months (or even more, really. It depends on your baby's size and how much he likes to be swaddled). Our sample of a swaddle baby is "Boy", Kiddo's teddy bear. It measures 21" long and we were able to swaddle him easily (and you don't see any bulky/full areas of leftover fabric)

After baby outgrows them for swaddling, you can keep using them as nursing cover, car seat cover, regular blanket, or just as a security blanket for toddlers. You can also put them as burp cloth and changing pads. My little one loves how soft these muslin blankets are ad he wanted to keep them, but they are going into the Baby Gift Box for Kiddo 2.0.

As you can see in the photo below, muslin fabric which is just lightweight cotton cloth made in a plain weave, is breathable and you can see my hand through it. This is something really important for us because Kiddo 2.0 will be born and raised in Puerto Rico where climate is tropical. With all the heat and humidity in the Island the less we want is a heavy fabric for blankets.

Bottom line, I love these muslin swaddle blankets. They are well made, flawless seams, patterns are aligned (not crooked like others), are machine washable, and these can be a great gift for future parents, no matter the gender of the baby. They are also big and versatile.

As soon as Kiddo 2.0 joins us in November we will update this post with photos of him swaddled <3

Surprise Toy: Race Case #HotWheels #Mattel

Well, it is Monday! And today we have a Surprise Toy!

I've been watching YouTube videos about kids playing with their amazing racetracks and cars for a long time, and I've been begging for toys like that! So, mommy finally found something that she felt fit in with our lifestyle (travelers) and our budget.

My surprise today was the Hot Wheels Race Case.

Photo shows everything that is included in the Hot Wheels Race Case.

To see how I reacted to the surprise, please watch the video below. (Seriously, you will see the many faces of this kiddo in the first 2 minutes of that video, it is hilarious) You will also see me playing with it, so you will learn how to open, close it and launch the cars.

OK! Here is a summary about why mommy decided to buy it:

1. Portable
2. Not too many pieces
3. Side by side dual launcher
4. Includes two (2) Hot Wheels' cars and two (2) small ramps
5. Stores up to 12 cars inside
6. Connects with other Hot Wheels race tracks (sold separately)
7. No batteries required
8. Price under $10.00!

I think it passed mommy's test.

Let's begin with how easy it is to open and close. The Hot Wheels Race Case has two (2) clips on the blue cover that lock the case closed, and a handle for carrying. The material is plastic and feels really sturdy, and the colors are bright. The dimensions of the case when it is closed are about 8.5" x 5" x 7.5" and it weighs less than a pound (without any cars inside, only the two cars included). Those measurements make the Race Case a perfect choice for travel.

I love the race case launcher's mechanism. It works with a rubber band that attaches to the back of the track. If it breaks or you lose it you can always replace it and the race track will work just fine. There are three settings for launch force that you control and it is not difficult to pull the launcher back. Even I could do it and I am only three (3) years old!

Mommy's Corner: Manicure Time with Jamberry!

*Hablamos español, así que únete a mi grupo de Facebook: Sharill's Jammin' Nail Wrap Party para que aprendas más sobre Jamberry*

Hello my darling readers!

I finally got to have my first "me time" this week. Kiddo is taking a nap and I decided to do my nails while he is asleep.

I've been a nail biter since I have memory, and I absolutely HATE IT! But for some reason I couldn't control it before. I used to be so self conscious about my hands, I didn't even wear my wedding ring because I didn't want people to ask to see it because they would see my ugly hands (nails). I tried fake nails (acrylic) but after a while it was too much for me, plus after removing them my nails would be so weak and unhealthy.

Well, a friend introduced me to Jamberry a while ago and now I have pretty and healthy nails woohoo! Jamberry are nail wraps high quality and made of vinyl. They seal with heat and pressure and can last up to 2 weeks (even more) on hands and up to 4 weeks on toes.

Jamberry Nail Wraps have NO harsh chemicals, they DO NOT chip or fade (like polish or polish stickers do), they do not damage your natural nail and are safe for pregnant women and children (they are non-toxic).

Each sheet of Jamberry Nail Wraps will give you 2 manicures, 2 pedicures and couple of extras for accent nails. They come in hundreds of styles and the best thing is that you can put them on yourself with tolls that you may already have at home. When I put them on I only use my blow dryer (heat source), scissors and cuticle pusher. That's it! But if you do not have tools Jamberry's got you cover with their tool kits and mini heaters :)

Here is the first time I wore Jamberry! I matched my hands and feet! I did them and only used half sheet, so I had the other half and couple of wraps from this one left! That would be a $7.50 manicure :)

Like everything you will find it a bit difficult in the beginning but once you learn how to put those babies son you will become a expert and it will take you no time! Oh, and unlike nail polish or polish stickers, you do not have to wait for them to "dry" after you put them on! I absolutely love them, really! Because what if the baby decides to wake up right when you are done  putting nail polish? You have to choose between a crying baby or a damaged manicure! Not with Jamberry! You put them on and you are good to go!

Here is what I did on my "me time" today (without flash on top, without flash on bottom). The wrap I am wearing is the Gray and Silver Stripe.

Oh and I almost forgot! They have a collection of Juniors and 'Mommy and Me' where the wraps fit little girl nails from 2T to 8 years old! This is a great idea because I know a lot of little girls that love to look just like mommy but nail polish are too strong for them, plus the chemicals… eww… Jamberry is totally safe for them and there are even wraps for mommy and daughter that match their nails!!!

If you would like to learn more and get some free samples from Jamberry, please join my online party that will last of 10 days. We will have games and will answer all the questions you may have about the product. Join on Facebook here: Sharill's Jammin' Nail Wrap Party

Pet Dump #CBUgglysPetDump

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

Well, I don't know if you have noticed, but there has been lots of buzz about these teeny tiny toys called Ugglys Pet Shop. They are the nastiest and ugliest figurines I have ever seen, but kids seem to love them! Ugglys figurines resemble pet animals (dogs, frogs, birds, and other animals that I can't even recognize lol), they measure about 1 inch tall and their faces are always covered in vomit, boogers or any other nasty thing you can think of. I swear, I am not kidding!

Well, since they all are so small and people loves to collect them here is the best storage option for them: The Pet Dump. What's better than a "trash can" for nasty and dirty pets? I can't belive I ameven  saying this hahahahaha, this is so funny!

The Pet Dump is sold in packs of two (2), and each can holds around 30 Ugglys Pets (They measure about 7" tall x 4.5" diameter). The dumps and the pets are a match made in heaven. I absolutely love how perfect these dumps are, they really look like real garbage bins.

Recipe: Creamy Chocolate Popsicles

Who doesn't like popsicles on a hot summer day?!

Today's a good one. Actually I'm finishing eating one of these while I post because this week has been HOT! It's been in the three digits and I can't wait for fall to get here!

Kiddo love chocolate ice-cream bars, so I had to attempt to do something similar to surprise him! Here's what I used!

3/4 Cup + 1 TBSP milk
6 TBSP chocolate pudding mix
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
milk chocolate chips to taste, we used Ghirardelli's (optional)

In a bowl mix the cream cheese with the pudding mix, then add the milk one table spoon at a time. Add the chocolate chips. I put the mix inside a ziploc bag, closed the top and cut a corner to make it easier to pour in the molds, fill them up and freeze over night :)

*The amount I used was enough for four popsicles (using the Onyx's Stainless Steel Ice Pop Molds). You can totally adjust the recipe to your taste and amount. But since this was my first attempt 4 were enough :)

Baby Gift Box Reveal!

So, you may have heard about the Baby Gift Box in past posts. For those who haven't, the BGB is just a box that we are gong to be filling up with baby items for the new member of the family Kiddo 2.0. 2.0 is Kiddo 1.0's cousin, and he will be born in November :)

We have a pretty small box and is full already, so we will be storing all the baby products in our bags. Yes, bags. We will be traveling to Puerto Rico to meet 2.0 and all these items are going to go with us in our suitcases (thaks Southwest Airlines for your awesome checked bags policy: first two are free).

Here you go….

Baby Gifts: Nursing Cover #IntiMom

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

Breastfeeding! Oh, how I loved it! Kiddo was exclusively breast fed for 15 months. That's a record for me.

When Kiddo was a newborn I used to work as an attorney assistant and court translator in South Dakota. There were only two people in the office: my boss (the attorney) and me. She was so kind that she hired me while I was pregnant, and I loved here even more after she told me that I could bring Kiddo to the office every day if I wanted to.

Kiddo was 6 days old when he went to court with me for the first time. We lived in a small town, where everybody is kind, helpful, understanding… and nobody had a problem with me taking my little one to work, not even the Judge (who I absolutely admired, he was my favorite)

Well, like I said, Kiddo was EBF and due to my type of work (and my personality, really) I always carried with me a nursing cover, so no matter the place I could comfortably pop out the boob and feed the little mister. That nursing cover was the best gift ever! And since I loved it so much Kiddo 2.0 (Mommy 2.0, actually) is getting one too!

For the Baby Gift Box we are adding the IntiMom Nursing Cover. Why the IntiMom's? Well, you see, these are my favorite features about this nursing cover:

Baby Gifts: Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Feeding Bottles and Pacifiers

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

I am so excited about today's post. When kiddo was born, I was a first time mom, I was naive, I didn't know what products were the best out there for my baby. As he grew I decided to research, read, ask, investigate, test lots of products and I can now say I am pretty much an expert in the area of baby/kids products.

So, one of the things that I am obsessed with are baby bottles. I LOVE baby bottles (not for me, duh), and of course, Kiddo did NOT like bottles as a baby. He would only take the darn boob. Thank goodness I was a SAHM because if not I would have had to come up with a prototype of a portable mommy boob for him to eat while in child care lol

Ok, anyway, enough story telling…. My obsession with bottles is now known as obsession with Tommee Tippee. Since the first day I learned about Tommee Tippee I am a huge fan and I am so glad I can now share my excitement with all of you!

Why I love Tommee Tippee Feeding Bottles so much?
