Family Fun: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Boy, oh boy! My kiddo had a blast couple of days ago after we visited Six Flags. As you may or may not know, Six Flags is well known for being an amusement parks filled with thrill rides, super fast roller coasters and even animal attractions. There are 16 Six Flags parks around the United States (including water parks), plus one in Mexico and one in Canada. (Check if there is a Six Flags near you, here: Park Locator)

View from the parking lot
We live in California, Northern California to be exact. So our closest park is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

The first time I hear about Six Flags I immediately thought that the parks were only for adults, so when I had my kid I never though of it as a destination for us because he was little. Well, I was wrong. When I moved to NorCal and started researching for places to take Kiddo I learned that Six Flags Discovery Kingdom was a destination that the ENTIRE family would enjoy.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom offers rides and evens for all ages. You will be able to find Thrill Rides, Family Rides, Kids Rides, Animal Attractions, Animal Encounters, Food and Shopping.

The parking lot is huge and you can choose to walk to the entrance gates or take a trolley that takes you from the parking lot to the entrance. Kiddo decided to walk, because there is a little bridge that he saw and wanted to cross haha!

The first thing Kiddo did when we got through the gates was to get a map! He immediately asked to go to the Shark Experience. We went in through a dark entrance that took us to a walk-through tunnel where we were able to see live sharks for the first time!

Baby Gifts: Baby Sling #Mamaway

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

I am a big fan of baby wearing! When Kiddo was a newborn, my stepdad gave me a ring sling as a gift. Three years later I still have it and I love it! As always, we are thinking about Kiddo 2.0 who will be born in November and, of course, I wanted Mommy 2.0 to have a ring sling to wear that baby <3

And the ring sling that is going to be in Kiddo 2.0's Baby Gift Box is the Mamaway Baby Sling.

Ring slings are a great way to bond with baby skin-to-skin, and the Mamaway baby sling has many features that I love:

1. It is easy to use and adjust (easy to learn too)
2. It is compact when stored (it has a pouch to store)
3. Many carrying positions (my recommendations are front, side, back)
4. Can hold heavy babies (it is tested to hold up to 100 pounds for 24 hours straight)
5. Material is cotton fabric (good for any climate)
6. Measures 76 inches long x 30 inches wide on on its widest point (great for different mommy sizes :) )
7. Machine washable.

As you can see Kiddo 1.0 is demonstrating 2 of the many ways to carry with the ring sling: front carry and back carry. With baby (or kangaroo) high enough to kiss his head. If you notice there is a red logo on Kiddo's shoulder. That logo will let you know if you are wearing the sling correctly. The logo must always be on the shoulder, not below or behind. A great feature for the users.

Always keep the back panel without any twists on the fabric.
If you notice there is a red logo on my kid's shoulder. That logo will let you know if you are wearing the sling correctly. The logo must always be on the shoulder, not too low or behind. A great feature for its users. The carrier feels really sturdy and the fabric is good for any climate as I mentioned. The rings are plastic (unlike other slings' that are steel or wood), but they are really thick an feel secure.

Remember to always keep the back panel without any twists on the fabric and have your baby in a seating position (knees higher than bum) for a proper wear. Also, the are of the rings that rests on your shoulder must cover your entire shoulder, that is the correct way for it to work and distribute the weight correctly, plus it helps keep the shape and not get twisted.

I also noticed that the upper part of the panel, had extra padding on the sides. You can see where the arrows are pointing on the photo below (they point the seams). Those are the ones that have the extra padding and you won't see them on the rest of the fabric. They are great for my shoulders/back area.

The Mamaway Baby Sling is made out of cotton fabric, measures 76 inches long x 30 inches wide on on its widest point, and it can hold babies from 7 lbs to 50 lbs. As you can see I can wear my 35 lbs toddler, and he is happy and comfortable, and I am too.

[ANCHORS]

Rings are normally metal, but this sling's rings are hard plastic, so they won't rust if you take the carrier to the beach or anything.

Oh and this sling comes in a variety of colors that are to die for. The one in my photos is the Chocolate Mint Ice Cream and I also love the Red Anchors.

By the way, another BIG BIG thing for me is customer service. After opening the chocolate mint ring sling I noticed a small rip in one of the seams, and it was coming undone. Concerned about how this could affect the safety of a baby in the sling I contacted customer service, explained what was happening, sent them photos as proof and they immediately took action. They sent me a new ring sling that was completely fine with zero flaws.

I love when a company has great customer service, it makes customers trust them and feel more comfortable buying from them. They were as concerned as I was, and asked zero questions.

Overall I am loving this baby sling. This ring sling grows with baby, is durable, machine washable, and makes a wonderful gift for new parents, OBVIOUSLY! And I absolutely love when a company is concerned about your baby's safety, so that is a BIG PLUS for me.

If you would like to purchase the Mamaway Baby Sling go to Amazon.com by click on the following link: Mamaway Baby Sling

Seriously, all this baby talk is making me want to have a new baby. November needs to be here soon so I can calm my baby fever with Kiddo 2.0!

Remember, always research and get informed about the correct ways to carry a baby and the proper leg position. Like every product, if you use a product correctly it is going to be safe, but if you do not follow recommendations and give improper use it can harm your baby. Try to read from legit baby wearing sources.

Baby Gifts: Littleware Baby Food Storage

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

New addition to the Baby Gift Box for Kiddo 2.0: The Littleware Baby Food Storage

These cute 5 oz, plastic containers are BPA and BPS free. They can be microwaved, frozen and washed in the dish washer. The lids snap on pretty easy, yet securely. Kiddo 2.0 is not here yet, so we have been using these for snacks like cereal, cheese crackers, some crunchy M&M's and mini muffins (yes, they fit great, 2 per container) to test them.

As I mentioned, we don't use them for liquids, these are not leak proof, so if you get them, do not store or transport liquids because the containers may leak. When Kiddo 2.0 gets ready for solids we will use them for puree. I know Mommy 2.0 is going to be so excited about making him homemade food and these are perfect for that. That is why the Littleware Baby Food Storage is part of our Baby Gift Box for Kiddo 2.0.

STEALS.com: Our Shopping Experience

*I was provided with a promotion code to facilitate my honest review about my shopping experience using the website Steals.com. There was no monetary compensation involved. I only recommend products and brands I trust and opinions are always my own.

I am a fan of online shopping. It is funny because being a SAHM you would think that I have the time to go visit the mall or stores and buy the items I need. But, no. I am a busy mom and prefer the convenience of shopping in my pajamas with my kid eating cereal, watching cartoons, and running in circles.

No, seriously, I love to be able to shop for great deals from the comfort of my own home. And that is truly possible with Steals.com.

Steals.com is an online store based in Utah.  They sell baby, kids, women, and scrapbooking products, as well as home decor, office accessories and electronics at great prices. They post a new "steal" every day for each category and you can save more than 50% off of the original price from well known brands.

As I mentioned Steals.com has different categories. They have BabySteals, KidSteals, SheSteals & ScrapbookSteals. Oh, and even though the category called SheSteals is about females they have a subcategory for males too!

Fun in the Sun with KoolSupply Outdoors Blanket

Kiddo likes to play outside all of the time. After not seeing daddy for a week, Kiddo was excited to finally have some time with him this weekend. Daddy and I took Kiddo to a park. He rode his bike, played in the playground and then sat with us on the grass to take a rest and have some snacks.

I am allergic to grass. Weird, right? Whenever my skin is in contact with a particular type of grass for an extended period of time, I get an itchy rash all over my body. Now I don't have that problem anymore thanks to our new Outdoors (Picnic in our case) Blanket from Kool Supply.

Thanks to Kool Supply's Outdoors Blanket I had the chance to enjoy our little picnic in the park with Kiddo and Daddy, with no itchy allergies. This outdoors blanket is made out of Polyester (Water Resistant) on the top and PVC (Water Proof) on the bottom. It measures 70" x 56", perfect for our family. My favorite feature of this picnic blanket is that it folds into a small pouch and even Kiddo was able to carry it for us on our way to the park. Not that he needed to, because when it is folded, the picnic blanket has its own carrying handle for easy transportation :)

Getting Ready for Kiddo 2.0 with TravPACS

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

Like I mentioned before, there is a new member joining the Kiddo Approved family. My baby nephew (Kiddo 1.0's cousin), who we will call Kiddo 2.0.

This weekend we decided to get the one box containing Kiddo 1.0's baby clothes and sort some of them to pass down to Kiddo 2.0. Bittersweet, since I am still emotionally attached to some of them, but good to know that the person using them is so dear to my heart. I still saved some outfits that were my faves from Kiddo 1.0's newborn days to keep.

Since Kiddo 2.0 will be born in Puerto Rico and we already have a trip planned for around his birth date, we will pack his gifts (including the Baby Gift Box) in our suitcases to take it all with us in the plane. (Thank you Southwest Airlines for the low fares and free checked bags!).

Surprise Toy: Car-Go Play Mat #SuperiorImagination

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

There is no thing that we love more than multi-function and portable toys! We are travelers so anything that can fit into that lifestyle is a big hit with us. And for Kiddo 1.0 it is all about cars! Mixing all of that makes the perfect toy for Kiddo 1.0

Superior Imagination hit it out of the park with the Car-Go Toy Car Play Mat and Storage Bag. This mat is round and measures 28 inches in diameter. One side has a nice print with a multi colored car pattern and the other side has a city where kids can play with their cars "vroom, vroom". The scale of the city is perfect for little cars like HotWheels.
