WE'RE TAKING A BREAK

Hi readers!

I don't know if you all noticed but we got our domain! No more blogspot, we are officially www.kiddoapproved.com! Yaaaaay!

But, the purpose of this post is not that (sad face). We just wanted to let you all know that we are going to be taking a break for a couple of weeks. The website will run as it normally would, but you will find that my social media channels are not going to be active (Facebook has scheduled posts, but I won't be able to respond to comments or messages).

I am getting ready for 3 exams that I have to take before October (I have to read over 1,000 pages) and social media distracts me too much. I need to learn how to control it, I know, but while I learn this is what works for me to keep me focused.

Posts are scheduled for at least a month (over achiever, I know haha), so don't panic :)

If you need to contact me I'll be available 24/7 via email and contact form. PLEASE READ THAT: EMAIL AND CONTACT FORM ONLY. Not Facebook, not Twitter, not Instagram… Only email and contact form.

We will be back soon, I promise.

Wish me luck and hope you miss us!

Baby Gifts: Silicone Train Teether #GenieBest #TrainTeether

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

I don't know if you all knew, but there will be a new product tester joining Kiddo Approved. A baby boy due in November. Kiddo 2 will be our main tester for baby products. We are going to travel to Puerto Rico to meet him and we cannot wait!

So, like a good cousin and auntie, we're going to make a special baby gift for Kiddo 2.0 (yeah we are going to spoil him, but just a tiny bit). And one of the items that will be part of that amazing gift is the Genie Best Red Train Teether.

The Genie Best Train Teether is a soft and non-toxic toy for infants to chew on. It is made out of high quality food grade silicone (meets US and European standards), so it is safe for baby. The texture on the back of the teether helps babies "scratch" those gums when chewing and the size is just right for little hands to grab. Oh, and they are also freezer safe if your little one prefers cold toys.

Surprise Toy: SmartMax Express #Smartmax #SmartToysandGames

*I received the product for testing purposes in exchange of my honest review. Although the product was free opinions are 100% my own.

If you are a fan of smart and learning play, you are going to love SmartMax Magnetic Discovery by Smart Toys and Games.

Smart Toys and Games makes some of the most awesome logic and brain stimulating toys and games for ages from three (3) to ninety-nine (99), or older, I bet! I had the chance to test their SmartMax Magnetic Discovery, Express, a toy suitable for ages 3 and up, that help the little ones discover how magnetism works while they have fun building trucks, cars or trains out of the 15 pieces that come with the set.

The SmartMax Express includes one (1) long bar,  two (2) short bars, six (6) pair of wheels, two (2) cockpits, two (2) containers and two (2) metal balls. Pieces come in the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue.

The bars have magnets on their ends which makes you able to connect one with another. You can also use the metal balls to connect the bars and this will make it easier for the truck and trains to take turns :)

Baby Essentials Giveaway #BabyEssentials #Giveaway

ESGIVEAWAY

Welcome to The Baby Essentials Giveaway! We're giving away $170 worth of baby items and (2) $10 Target gift cards! Read on to find out how to enter.

Hosted by Sunshine N Savings
Having a baby is a precious and wonderful gift... but babies are expensive! Yikes! I started my coupon journey four years ago when I found out I was expecting my first child. I was excited but scared and worried about the finances. My husband and I thought it'd be in our best interest to purchase diapers, wipes and things we'd need for the baby through my pregnancy so that we were stocked fairly well. $11 for diapers. Eleven dollars for 36 diapers that my baby will use in the first 48 hours. At that rate, I would have been spending $165 or more on just diapers! That wasn't going to work. I got online and I researched and fell onto a couponing site. Diapers for just three dollars! I'm sold, tell me more! I read every tutorial I could, watched video after video and finally I walked into CVS with a smile and a lot of hope. (I only had $20 in my pocket, this HAD to work) I walked out of the store that day with four packs of diapers, change from my twenty and ExtraBucks (like CVS store credit). I was hooked. By the time I had my son, I had almost enough diapers for his first year of life. Our closet was stuffed with diapers, wipes, creams, food, clothes and toys for the baby and I wasn't in financial ruin. I was happy. I could spend the next few months focusing on the little miracle I had just met. You don't have to spend a lot of money to provide for your baby, your children or even yourself. The items below retail for $170! I paid about $40 for it all. The Carters outfits were FREE from JCPenney, I used coupons on the diapers, wipes and cream! The toys were paid for with overage. The books were on clearance for $0.75. My goal is to teach YOU how to save money by couponing and shopping smart.

Toddler Meals: Rice & Picadillo #rRecipe

TODDLER MEALS!

Here is my first post for the Kiddo Approved Toddler Meals post series that I'll be publishing. I'll be showing you what I ate during the week and also share some kiddo approved recipes.

Today I had one of my favorites: white rice with picadillo. Simple and delicious. You can totally see my happy face below :)

Picadillo is typically made with beef, but when there is no lean ground beef at the store mommy buys ground turkey, and it is as delicious. HERE is our picadillo recipe, the only thing mommy did differently was adding carrots and peas this time.

The rice? Well, mommy and daddy are from Puerto Rico, and puerto ricans eat rice with EVERYTHING! Haha!

The rice was cooked in our Aroma Digital Rice Cooker. Just add the ingredients and press a button. Let it do its job and you will always have perfectly cooked rice. Jasmine rice is our favorite!

So there you have it. An easy recipe that your kiddos will definitely like (at least I do). It contains vegetables and it is really flavorful. This recipe makes a great freezer meal too. The rice (cooked) and the meat freeze really well, perfect for busy parents.
