Surprise Toy! LEGO Classic 10692 #LEGO

I got a gift couple of days ago. I had two reactions after I found out that it was a box of LEGO Classic Creative Bricks (#10692): the face every person (kid or adult) makes when they get a LEGO play set (left) and the face of "Ahhhh I love it so much" (right).

I know that you understand, because... who doesn't like LEGOs?

As every kiddo, I have always been a fan of product packaging (boxes), but this is the first time I get "A GIANT LEGO BLOCK?" and it was "AWESOME!". I love when companies think about every detail, including the box where the product comes in; and not only because of the design, but the construction as well. It is sturdy for the kind of material and functional, it works as storage for the bricks.

The LEGO Classic Creative Bricks 10692 are suitable for ages 4 to 99 ( I still don't understand why a 100 or 101 year old kiddo cannot play with it… but LEGO may have their reasons*wink*) I know I am only three, but my favorite bricks are the LEGO Classics because I can be more creative with them than with any other set that already has a theme to it.

This box of LEGO Classic comes with 221 pieces (couple more, in fact). The colors are vibrant, and something that I like a lot is that the list of pieces and quantity are labeled on the outside of the box. So I'll be able to check what pieces are missing without needing the instructions manual. [Because, who are we kidding? kiddos (*cough* parents *cough*) always "store" the manuals so well that they never find them again. EVER.]

The manual has projects that you can easily make following the instructions in it. You can also go online and find more project ideas for free.

I am only three and I was able to make some of these by myself. Didn't make them all because my attention span is pretty short. After two projects I am done, and can't concentrate to follow steps anymore. My imagination though… that one can create lots of things for hours and keep going…

Anyway, who said that the correct way to play with LEGO is by just copying their ideas? Right, LEGO is about imagination and creativity so, I am fine :)

These are all the project you can make from the ideas on the printed manual and online. Everything with just ONE set of LEGO (Classic Creative Bricks 10692)

Sheep and Cow

Lighthouse and Sailboat

Pretty cool, right?

And now to the KiddoMeter…. The LEGO Classic Creative Bricks 10692 rated….

*******drumroll, please*******

which means that we LOVE the LEGO Classic Creative Bricks #10692 and it is KIDDO APPROVED!

This is the first LEGO Classic set I own and it exceeded my expectations. The variety of figures that you can create is great for the size of the box. I was really surprised by the fact that the figures did not share pieces, so I was able to build all of them at the same time without having to take pieces from one to use in another.

Oh! And did I mention that this set includes the Brick Separator? This little tool is something that you don't want to lose. It will be the only thing that will save you from insanity trying to separate thin bricks stuck together. Remember: DO NOT LOSE IT!

Like always, the quality of  LEGO is outstanding: sharp edges, vibrant colors, great variety of shapes, durable. I wish the set included a little figurine, but that is not a deal breaker.

Needless to say, I've been playing with the LEGO Classic Creative Bricks non-stop. I can't wait to get more LEGO bricks and expand my collection. At first I thought that 221 were too many pieces, but after playing with it I think that there is no such thing as "too many pieces" when it comes to LEGO! I want more!

The LEGO Classics make great gifts for any kiddo of any gender and any age. This will be the only gift they won't mind receiving every year and they will spend countless hours using it and having fun while they develop creative skills.

For your convenience you can buy your LEGO sets online or you can even visit a LEGO store near you!

There is also a park called LegoLand but I have never been there, I bet it is amazing! I'll start saving with my piggy bank and see if I can go soon.

Oh! And a reminder for the kiddos: DO NOT forget to pick-up your LEGOs before going to bed. There is nothing more painful than stepping on a LEGO in the middle of the night :)

Traveling with a Toddler - Part II: Packing List #Travel #TravelTips

For our second part of the Traveling with a Toddler post series we decided to share with you my full packing list (kid's packing list).

As I mentioned, we are travelers. We absolutely love to travel, and it doesn't mater where we go, mommy will always use the same packing list. And that is the list we are sharing with you today.
(Printable version at the bottom of the post)

Ok, so, we are talking about kids, remember. Try to pack 2 outfits per day if you do not have laundry services. In our case, we will stay at grandma's house where we have laundry access. (Older kids won't need too many outfits per day, but young toddlers will)

When choosing outfits and accessories, always keep in mind the destination and season. We will be going to Puerto Rico and Florida during late fall. So, I'll pack according to that (tropical climate, with chilly nights and mornings)

*Note: This is a list for domestic flights. If you are traveling international you will need other items not listed here. If you are a United States citizen you DO NOT need a passport to visit Puerto Rico, so leave it at home, in a safe place.

Baby Registry Musts (Budget Friendly) #Pregnancy #Baby #BabyRegistry

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means that I receive a commission if you make a purchase using my links and/or promotion codes. You do NOT have to pay more for the product.

Let me start by telling you what inspired mommy to make this post.

My aunt is pregnant AND clueless. She has been calling mommy everyday since she found out she was expecting, asking what she needs for her registry. She likes to save, so she gave mommy an assignment: create her baby registry with just the essentials (and she wanted the list to be budget friendly).

Auntie called mommy because, mommy is a practical person. She always thinks about the functionality of a product first, rather than price or even trend. Oh, Beyonce got that for her baby? Good for her. But, that doesn't mean that you NEED it for yours. You get it, right?

Well, below, is a list of baby essentials for your registry that won't break the bank. With just these you will be able to take care of your newborn for the first weeks or months. Some people may agree with mommy, some people may think she is nuts, but the things listed below were the ONLY things she needed when I was born. And guess what? We both survived and I turned out fine haha!

Let's start!

Travel System: This is the first thing a pregnant lady searches for when she finds out she is expecting. You HAVE to have a carseat for your baby, that's not put to discussion, and you will always need a stroller at some point. When choosing a travel system make sure that you choose the one that matches your lifestyle. Always taking quality and functionality into consideration. We are outdoor lovers so we have an all-terrain stroller, but we also have a super cheap and light umbrella stroller that we keep in the trunk of the car in case I fall asleep while mommy runs errands.

Playard/Crib with fitted sheets: You can have either or both. Your choice. I started using my crib when I was 2 years old. So make sure you will actually use the product before you spend money on it or before you make someone spend the money. These two are affordable options. The pack 'n play is a great option for babies that share rooms with parents, for grandma's house and for travelers. For cribs, I recommend convertibles (crib, toddler bed, full size bed). There are a lot of great choices at affordable prices.

Mini Churros #Recipe

Here it is! The first recipe we tested here in KiddoApproved. Perfect breakfast or dessert for kids to make for Fathers' Day!

It is Lil' Luna's Cinnamon Cream Cheese Roll Ups (or Mini Churros as we call them).

As all mommies probably do, my mommy is always looking for kid-friendly recipes for me. Do you happen to know why? Ha! I'll tell you. It is because every time she offers something I will always answer: "Mommyyy, Kiddo eats that aaaall the tiiiime", even if the last time I ate it was a month ago.

So she has to come up with different things in order for me to eat haha :)

Traveling with a Toddler - Part I: Entertainment #Travel #TravelingTips

Well, hello there!

This is my first blog post for the Traveling with a Toddler post series. Mommy was just getting some plane tickets and I thought: "hmm why don't I talk about what keeps me busy while we travel on the blog as first post?". Anyway mommy needs to get a reminder, plus this is one of my favorite things to do: travel!

Not to brag, but every time I travel with my parents people compliment them about my great behavior during flights. *insert angel face here*

When I get a box with bees on the packaging tape I KNOW I am getting some free goodies from BzzAgent!

A while ago I was lucky enough to receive the Fisher-Price Little People City Skyway. I bugged mommy every day, asking when was the mailman going to deliver my toy.
